1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Univault mobile application, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use the app.

2. Eligibility

2.1 User Requirements

To use Univault, you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age or the age of majority in your jurisdiction
• Be currently enrolled in a recognized higher education institution
• Have a valid university email address
• Have the authority to enter into this agreement

2.2 Account Registration

• You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
• You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account

3. Acceptable Use

3.1 Permitted Use

You may use Univault for:

• Accessing and managing your academic records
• Viewing grades, attendance, and course information
• Receiving notifications about academic events and updates
• Downloading academic reports and transcripts
• Collaborating with classmates and study groups

3.2 Prohibited Activities

You agree NOT to:

• Use the app for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data
• Upload viruses, malware, or any harmful code
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the application
• Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the app
• Share or distribute copyrighted materials without permission
• Impersonate another person or entity
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Attempt to bypass security measures or authentication systems

4. Intellectual Property Rights

4.1 Our Content

• The Univault app, including its design, code, features, and content, is owned by the developer
• All trademarks, logos, and service marks are the property of their respective owners
• You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without permission

4.2 User Content

• You retain ownership of any content you upload or create in the app
• By uploading content, you grant us a license to use, store, and display it for app functionality
• You represent that you have the right to upload any content you submit
• You are responsible for ensuring your content does not infringe on third-party rights

5. Data and Privacy

5.1 Data Collection

We collect and process your data as described in our Privacy Policy.

5.2 Academic Data

• Academic records are synced from your university's portal with your consent
• We do not modify or alter your academic records
• Data accuracy depends on the source portal's data quality

5.3 Third-Party Services

• We use Google Sign-In for authentication (governed by Google's Terms of Service)
• Firebase Cloud Messaging is used for push notifications
• Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and policies

6. Service Availability

6.1 Service Uptime

• We strive to provide continuous service availability
• We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service
• Scheduled maintenance may temporarily interrupt service

6.2 Modifications and Updates

• We may update, modify, or discontinue features at any time
• App updates may be required for continued use
• We will notify users of significant changes when possible

7. Disclaimers and Limitations

7.1 Disclaimer of Warranties

The app is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

• Accuracy, reliability, or completeness of content
• Fitness for a particular purpose
• Non-infringement of third-party rights
• Availability or continuity of service

7.2 Academic Records Disclaimer

• Univault displays academic data synced from your university portal
• We are not responsible for inaccuracies in the source data
• Always verify critical academic information with official university sources
• We do not guarantee CGPA calculations match official university methods

7.3 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• We are not responsible for data loss due to device failure or user error
• Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the app (if any)

8. Account Termination

8.1 Termination by User

• You may delete your account at any time through the app settings or Delete Account page
• Account deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed
• All personal data will be deleted within 30 days of account deletion

8.2 Termination by Us

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if:

• You violate these Terms of Service
• Your account is inactive for an extended period
• Your actions pose a security risk to other users
• You engage in fraudulent or illegal activities
• Required by law or university policy

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Changes will be effective when:

• Posted to this page with an updated "Last modified" date
• Notified to users via in-app notification or email

Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
